West Sussex Music asked me to teach KS2 level African drumming to numerous schools in the county. My stance on teaching African drumming is to provide students with all fundamentals of traditional African music. After emphasising the importance of my knowledge to the management team, I was given the freedom to create a curriculum to embody the three aspects of African traditional music -- drumming, dancing, and singing.
The music on this album are songs I composed for this venture. A video is in the making comprising all the dances that accompany all the songs on the album and will be made available when ready.

My greatest thanks to all the Head Teachers and teachers for your faith, enthusiasm, help, respect, support and LOVE during my years of teaching at your school, very greatly appreciated and also my sincere and loving thanks to you all for giving me the opportunity of presenting Africa in a great positive light as opposed to the stereotype of wars, famines and political instability associated with Africa.
Note: In the production of this album, in accordance with African culture, all the children who took part in the African Experience were giving the chance to partake in the recording. There were no auditions to pick only the most talented children as is usual in the West. For in the true African traditional spirit, drumming, dancing and singing is inherent in all human beings and one’s ability to take part in music is more important than “I can only take part because I am the best.”
